Department of Water and Sanitation is Hiring a Heavy Vehicle Driver

 

DRIVER (EXTRA HEAVY MOTOR VEHICLE) REF NO: 240125/13

Branch: Infrastructure Management: Southern Operations

SALARY R155 148 per annum (Level 03)

 

REQUIREMENTS

1. Grade 10 certificate or equivalent
2. A valid EC driver’s license and a valid permit (PdP)
3. One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in operation of heavy motor vehicle.
4. Knowledge in driving services
5. . Knowledge in operating service.
6. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
7. Knowledge of process flow.
8. Good communication skills (both oral and written).

DUTIES

1. Responsible for implementing best practices of driver / operation system.
2. Analyse logistics operations.
3. Conduct quality assurance of driver l operator systems.
4. The delivery and collection of passengers and the maintenance of register regarding deliveries and pickups.
5. Accountable for the routine maintenance of vehicles.
6. Routine inspection for isible defects around the exterior of vehicle.
7. Monitor various fluid levels.
8. Monitor the utilisation of vehicle I operating system.
9. Attend to special requests.
10. The periodic checks on vehicle maintenance standards.
11. Ensure the safekeeping of vehicles.
12. Ensure that vehicles and operators are guarded where they are kept.
13. Ensure that working area is clean where equipment is kept to avoid the fire hazards.
14. Promote occupational health and safety on an ongoing basis.
