Phakisa Holdings is seeking for Picker/Packer in Soweto and Johannesburg area
The Picker/Packer is responsible for picking and packing products according to order specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role ensures the efficient and accurate preparation of goods for dispatch, contributing to the smooth operation of the production line and timely delivery of customer orders.
Duties & Responsibilities
Picking and Packing:
Accurately pick items from inventory based on customer orders.
Pack items securely in appropriate packaging to avoid damage during transit.
Label items for shipping, ensuring correct addresses, barcodes, and handling instructions.
Verify product quantities, types, and specifications before packing.
Inventory Control:
Assist with inventory counting and stock rotation to ensure proper stock levels.
Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor.
Keep the storage area organized and maintain accurate records of picked orders.
Quality Control:
Conduct quality checks on items before packing to ensure they meet production and safety standards.
Notify supervisors of any quality or safety issues with the products.
Safety and Cleanliness:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the safe use of equipment and handling of materials.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other warehouse and production staff to ensure orders are processed efficiently.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production and shipping deadlines.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environment is preferred.
Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks).
Knowledge of inventory management software or systems is an advantage.
Ability to stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
