
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) invites qualifying students residing in Johannesburg to apply for two Student Internship positions under its Group Citizen Relationship & Urban Management (CRUM) and Human Settlements Departments.

Group Citizen Relationship & Urban Management Internship: Thursday, 22 May 2025
These are structured internships intended for students requiring workplace experience to complete their qualifications or gain relevant job exposure.
Internship 1: Group Citizen Relationship & Urban Management (CRUM)
Branch: Citizen Relations and Interface
Position: Internship Administration
Duration: 18 months
Stipend: R10 109.86 per month (no benefits)
Location: Traduna House, 118 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 and National Diploma/Degree in:
Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, Marketing and Communications or related field (360 credits minimum).
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Johannesburg residency only
Key Learning Areas:
Coordinate admin for Integrated Service Delivery and Stakeholder Interface
Promote service delivery efficiency and stakeholder relations
Support internal communications and information collation

Internship 2: Human Settlements Department

Position: Internship – Policy, Planning & Research
Duration: 18 months
Stipend: R10 109.86 per month (no benefits)
Location: 222 Smit Street, Braamfontein
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 and NQF Level 7 qualification in:
Housing, Human Settlements, Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies, Law or Social Sciences
Confirmation of enrolment from tertiary institution
Johannesburg residency only
Key Learning Areas:
Support research and policy development
Coordinate stakeholder engagements and public participation
Assist with administrative duties in the directorate
