
Applications Open for the Electoral Commission Logistics Internship Programme 2025. The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), a constitutional institution under Chapter 9 of the South African Constitution, is offering a 24-month internship opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement. This is a valuable opportunity for a young, unemployed graduate (35 years or younger) who has never previously worked in their field of study or participated in an internship.
The successful candidate will join the Gauteng Provincial Office logistics teamand gain practical experience in inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, procurement, and distribution within the context of electoral operations.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will receive structured mentorship and training while supporting:
Inbound logistics, procurement, distribution, and inventory management
Supplier tracking and delivery scheduling
Logistical operations related to by-elections
Document management, minute taking, reporting, and general administration
Preparation of presentations, performance reports, and maintenance of correspondence and filing systems
Exposure to electoral operations and financial administrative processes
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
Be 35 years of age or younger
Have never participated in an internship or worked in the relevant field
Hold Matric (Grade 12/N3/NQF Level 4)
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement
Additional Skills Required:
Effective written and verbal communication
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
Willingness to learn and work with new systems
Time management and problem-solving abilities
Teamwork and a proactive attitude
